How To Install Android 7.1 CyanogenMod 14.1 in Android Phone / Tablets [GUIDE CM 14.1]


In this Guide, I am Going to show you “How to Install CyanogenMod 14.1 in your Android Phone”. Here, I’ll give you the easy methods to install the CM 14.1 Android 7.1 Nougat Version in any Android Device.

Cyanogenmod Team has released the Latest version of their Android Custom ROM based on the Android 7.1 Nougat Version CM 14.1. Basically, the Cyanogenmod has been developed using the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Furthermore, the team behind the CyanogenMod has added more features and many customizations to the Android 7.1 OS.

So that, Install the CM 141.1 Android 7.1 version and get the additional features compared to the Stock Android 7.1. In addition, the CM team also releases the Android 7.1 Nougat update for most of Android Phones which won’t get the OTA Update from the Phone Manufactures. Therefore, I’ve installed the CM ROMs in many Android devices which was deserted by the Mobile Manufacturers.

List of Devices that will Get Official CM 14.1 Android 7.1 Nougat Version

Requirements Needed to Install Cyanogenmod 14.1 in Android Phones

  1. Rooted Android Phone (How to ROOT Android Phone / Tablet One Click)
  2. Unlocked the Bootloader in your Android Phone
  3. Install the Custom Recovery in the Android device (TWRP or ClockWorkMod Recovery)
  4. Create backup of Your Data in your Phone to avoid date loss if something unexpectedly happens to your device when installing the ROM.

How To Install CM 14.1 Android 7.1 on Android Phone / Tablets

Installing the CM 14.1 on your Android Phone is easy procedure with this method. Probably, It will take 15 to 30 Minutes to install the Official Cyanogenmod 14.1 in your Android device.

CM 141. is nightly versions, so it may have some serious bugs. However,  install the Cyanogenmod Installer Apk App in your Phone to get CM 14.1 nightly builds daily to fix the bugs. However, the CM Installer Apk is not available to download right Now

Step 1: Download the CM14.1 ROM for your Device

Go to the Download page of  official Cyanogenmod ROM Zip for your device. You can easily find out the Mobile model name in that page and download the Correct zip file.

For example, If you want to install the Android 7.1 CM 14.1 in your Moto G phone, then search for Moto G. You can find the Moto G 1st Gen Falcon in that available list. Then Click the link and goto the specific model download page.  There You can download the CM 14.1 Android 7.1 Nougat for your Moto G 1st Generation.

Step 2: Custom Recovery

In this step, Boot your phone via Custom Recovery like TWRP or CWM. You can boot your Phone via Custom Recovery mode by doing this, press and holding Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons together. Or n the Command Prompt or Terminal type,

adb devices
adb reboot bootloader

Step 3: Wipe Cache

In the Custom Recovery Mode, Choose the Wipe > Factory Reset. Now, user data will be deleted not your file and folders. Then, wipe cache partition to perform cache wipe to avoid Boot Loops. Some Devices Require this step to boot into your phone without any trouble.

Step 4: Locate and Install

In the fourth step, Install the Android 7.1 Nougat file. In Custom Recovery Choose the Install Zip via SD  option and locate the CM 14.1 Zip file and Confirm the installation process. You have to wait for the installation to process to complete. Finally, The Android 7.1 will be installed in your Android Phone.
Note:  CM 14.1 is still under development. So You can expect many bugs and they may affect your normal usage of your phone. However, the CM Team will update the CM14.1 Nightlies daily with bug fixes.So, You can expect the all the broken features will work in your Android Phone once development reaches beta stage.We are not responsible for any damage occurred to your device in the installation process.
